Parent FAQs

  • Which program is right for my child?

Start with our Programs page to compare age groups and levels of play. Recreational baseball focuses on player development and sportsmanship. Competitive teams select players through tryouts. Adaptive Baseball creates a supportive experience for players with physical or cognitive disabilities.

  • How do I register?

Open the current registration form, create or sign in to your account, and choose the appropriate division. The league requires a copy of each player's birth certificate. If you cannot select the expected division, check the birthdate on the player's profile.

  • Is this the same program as the recreation center?

No. Herriman Youth Baseball is separate from the Salt Lake County Recreation Center. Registering through the recreation center does not place your child on a Herriman Youth Baseball team.

  • What is Spring Training?

Spring Training helps recreational players prepare for the season. When offered, places are limited by field availability, coaching, and time. Check the season’s registration form for availability and eligible divisions.

  • Can my child play with friends?

Friend requests are available in Tee-Ball and Rookie. In recreational PeeWee 7 and older divisions, the children of one head coach and two assistant coaches may stay together. Other players are assigned through the division's team-selection process. Competitive teams select their rosters through coach-led tryouts.

  • Does PeeWee 7 have tryouts?

No. Aside from the permitted coach-player group, PeeWee 7 players are assigned through a random draft. PeeWee 8, Minors, Majors, and Pony use tryouts. Check current season announcements for dates and times.

  • Where are games played?

Recreational teams play primarily at W&M Butterfield Park. Regional tournaments and older divisions may play at other parks. Use your team's schedule to confirm the location of each game.

  • When are games and practices?

Tee-Ball and Rookie combine 30 minutes of practice with 30 minutes of play. PeeWee 7 and older games may be scheduled Monday through Saturday, with a goal of no more than two games each week. Coaches set practice schedules. Always use the posted team schedule for your specific dates and times.

  • What are the snack shack hours?

On weekdays with games, the published hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday service begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends one hour before the last scheduled game finishes. The shack may close early when business is slow.

  • Who runs the league?

Volunteers run Herriman Youth Baseball in cooperation with Herriman City. Contact the league if you would like to help or learn about board service.

  • What conduct is expected?

Put players' well-being first. Respect teammates, opponents, coaches, volunteers, and officials. All players, coaches, parents, and spectators must follow the league's Code of Conduct.
